Understanding Audit Status Badges and Zombie Scoring

Every lead in GhostHunter has visual audit badges that tell you at a glance how "zombified" a business's online presence is.

What Are Audit Badges?

Audit badges are colored indicators on each lead card. They show the status of key audit categories:

  • 🔴 Critical — Major issues found (e.g. no website, site down, no SSL)
  • 🟡 Warning — Issues that hurt but aren't critical (e.g. slow load time, missing meta tags, no mobile optimization)
  • 🟢 Good — This area looks fine (e.g. SSL present, site loads quickly)
  • Not checked — This category hasn't been audited yet

Audit Categories

Each lead can show badges for:

  • Website status — Does the site exist? Is it live?
  • SSL certificate — Is the connection secure?
  • Mobile optimization — Does the site work on phones?
  • Page speed — How fast does the site load?
  • SEO basics — Title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure
  • Google Business Profile — Is the business listed on Google?

Zombie Score

The zombie score is a single number (0–100) that summarizes how much a lead needs help:

  • 80–100 — Full zombie. Major issues everywhere. This lead needs a complete overhaul.
  • 50–79 — Partial zombie. Some areas are fine, others need work. Good redesign candidate.
  • 20–49 — Mostly alive. Minor issues. Better suited for optimization than a full rebuild.
  • 0–19 — Healthy. This business has their digital presence together. May not need your services.

Using Badges to Prioritize

Sort your GhostHunter results by zombie score to focus on the leads most likely to convert:

  1. Score 80+ leads are your best prospects — they have the most to gain from your services
  2. Score 50–79 leads are good follow-ups — they'll need convincing but the pain points are real
  3. Score below 50 — Deprioritize unless they're a high-value target for other reasons

Tips

  • Don't ignore yellow badges — A lead with all yellow and no red still has real issues. They may be an easier sell because the fixes are more approachable (and cheaper).
  • Use badges in your outreach — "Your website loads in 8.2 seconds — that's driving away 40% of visitors" is more compelling than "your site is slow."
  • Re-scan periodically — Badges update when you re-scan a lead. If a prospect fixed some issues on their own, the badges will reflect that.
