Understanding Your Link Building Plan

The Link Building Plan tab is a live roadmap showing everything Trovn has done for the domain — plus everything still worth doing, ranked by impact.

The Two Sections

Section 1 — Already Done A log of every action Trovn automated for this domain. Examples:

  • ✅ Submitted 47 URLs via IndexNow (Bing, Yandex, ChatGPT, Naver)
  • ✅ Submitted sitemap to Google Search Console
  • ✅ Listed on 8 directories (Product Hunt, G2, Capterra, AlternativeTo, BetaList, Indie Hackers, Crunchbase, Wellfound)
  • ✅ IndexNow key verified and active

This section is read-only — it's a record of completed automated work. Share it with your client so they see the value.

Section 2 — AI-Generated Action Plan A prioritized list of next steps the AI recommends, based on:

  • The industry/niche of the site
  • Gaps vs competitor backlink profiles
  • What's already been completed
  • Current DR and ranking data

Each action shows:

  • Title — e.g. "Pitch 5 industry blogs for guest posts"
  • Why — Short explanation of the SEO benefit
  • Time estimate — Hours of work required (1h, 2h, 5h, etc.)
  • Expected DR impact — +1 DR, +2 DR, +3 DR based on typical outcomes
  • Status — Not started / In progress / Completed

Example Actions

Typical AI-generated actions include:

  • Reach out to 10 industry blogs for guest posts — Time: 8h, DR impact: +2 to +4
  • Claim HARO/Qwoted profile and respond to 3 media queries/week — Time: 2h/week, DR impact: +1 to +3
  • Publish 3 long-form blog posts with data/research — Time: 15h, DR impact: +2 (indirect via natural backlinks)
  • Get featured on 2 industry podcasts — Time: 5h outreach, DR impact: +2
  • Build 5 Web 2.0 properties (Medium, Dev.to, Hashnode) — Time: 3h, DR impact: +1
  • Participate in 10 relevant Reddit/Discord/Forum threads with helpful answers including backlinks — Time: 4h/week, DR impact: +1 to +2

How the Plan Updates

The plan is dynamic. Every time you complete an action (directory submission, URL indexing, guest post pitch, etc.) Trovn re-runs the AI to:

  • Move completed items to the "Already Done" section
  • Generate new actions based on what's still missing
  • Re-rank remaining items by impact

You'll see a new action plan after every major milestone.

Sharing With Clients

Click Generate Client Report at the top of the Link Building Plan. This produces a branded PDF showing:

  • What Trovn (and you) have already done
  • What's on the roadmap
  • Projected DR growth over 3, 6, 12 months

Email it to your client or share the public link. It positions your agency as strategic, not tactical.

Tips

  • Check in monthly — Update statuses on plan items and let the AI regenerate the next batch of actions.
  • Focus on 2–3 actions per sprint — Rather than trying to do every action, pick the highest-DR-impact items that fit this month's capacity.
  • Document outcomes — When you complete an action, add a short note (e.g. "Published on TechCrunch 2026-01-15 — DR went from 18 to 22"). The AI uses your notes to refine future recommendations.
  • Use the plan as a client deliverable — Many agencies sell SEO as a monthly retainer. The plan itself is the deliverable clients pay for.
