The builder has two modes — Build and Chat. Use the toggle in the chat panel header to switch.
Build Mode (default — orange) Everything you type triggers a website generation or modification. The AI rebuilds or updates the site based on your message. Use this for:
- Initial site generation
- Adding new sections
- Changing design, colors, layout
- Structural changes
Chat Mode (blue) The AI responds conversationally without touching the site. Use this for:
- Asking questions about the site ("does this site have a contact form?")
- Getting advice ("what sections should a law firm website have?")
- Planning changes before making them
- Discussing content strategy
Important: Always use Chat Mode if you want to ask a question. Typing in Build Mode will trigger a regeneration even if you just asked a question.
